Step Into Science: Join Hologic’s Assay R&D, On Market Support Team in San Diego! Curious about how new medical tests get developed and improved? Our Assay R&D, On Market Support team is all about making sure the science behind our clinical diagnostic assays is top-notch. As a summer intern, you’ll get hands-on with real experiments, learn from experienced researchers, and play a part in developing ready-made reagents that help healthcare professionals deliver results that matter. What you’ll be up to during your 10-12 week adventure: Team up with scientific staff to prep buffers and run lab experiments (don’t worry, we’ll show you the ropes). Try your hand at running and maintaining lab equipment—you’ll be a pro in no time. Collect, organize, and analyze data (yes, spreadsheets can be cool). Help create and test new quality control methods (with plenty of expert support). Summarize your findings and help prepare presentations—your work gets seen! Who we’re hoping to meet: You can work full-time during the summer (May/June - August/September). You’re currently working on your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, with at least one semester left after the internship. Your major is in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, or something similar. You’re heading into your junior or senior year (or are a grad student). You know how to get your point across, whether you’re writing or speaking. You love solving problems and aren’t afraid to ask questions. You’re comfortable working in a lab setting (bonus points if you already know your way around pipettes). You’re excited to collaborate and learn from a team of passionate scientists. Location, pay & other important details: You can work onsite at our San Diego, CA campus. Heads up: intern housing, relocation, and housing stipends aren’t provided, so you’ll need to have your living situation and transportation sorted out.
