About The Position

As a Renewable Community Planner Intern, you will support our community planning and renewable energy team in delivering thoughtful planning solutions for renewable energy projects. Your responsibilities may include collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to land use, renewable energy siting, and community impact. You will assist with the review of land use applications and permits for renewable energy projects, support the preparation of staff reports, plans, and ordinance documentation, and assist with community engagement efforts, including meetings, presentations, and outreach materials. Additionally, you will support code/zoning research and compliance efforts related to renewable energy projects and contribute to other planning and renewable energy project tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year program in urban planning, community planning, or a related field.
  • Interest in renewable energy, land use planning, and sustainable community development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report preparation and presentations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and community stakeholders.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.4 preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record is preferred.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
