About The Position

This paid internship offers the opportunity to contribute to the design of utility-scale and distributed generation solar and energy storage projects. You will participate in renewable energy projects from initial concept and early-stage design through construction IFC design, gaining hands-on experience and expanding your technical knowledge.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a two- or four-year technical school, college, or university in civil/construction engineering, land surveying, or a related field.
  • Interest in civil design for utility-scale and distributed generation solar, including mass grading, earthwork calculations, road design, erosion and sediment control, and drainage studies.
  • Experience with Civil 3D.
  • Detail-oriented, committed to technical excellence, and eager to learn.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.4 preferred.
  • Prior internship or related consulting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing the conceptual, preliminary, and final design and specifications that are complete, accurate and in accordance with large-scale solar engineering practices.
  • Involved with the resolution of design challenges and tackle those challenges efficiently by thinking out-of-the-box thinking and using creativity.
  • Perform design computations and calculations related to the civil site design, mass grading and earth work calculation.
  • Work closely with the design team to understand technical needs and identify most efficient solution(s).
  • Work closely with other engineering staff across multiple disciplines.
