About The Position
We are seeking a student intern appointee to join our quantum optics and quantum sensing group at the Center for Integrated Nanotechnology (CINT) at Sandia National Laboratories (New Mexico). The focus of this group is discovering and utilizing solid state defect centers in wide bandgap semiconductors for quantum information, and quantum sensing. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a strong mechanical engineering background for development of new quantum sensing infrastructure design and build custom scientific experiments. The candidate will be working closely a team of staff, postdoc, graduate students and technologists who are experts in ion nano-implantation, quantum information sciences, single photon emitters, and nitrogen-vacancy magnetometry.
