JOB SUMMARY – To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. To provide practical, professional experience for the college student while contributing to the overall goals of their designated department. The intern will assume a primary role in projects working either independently or as part of a team, as well as perform other activities that will support the overall objectives of the area they are assigned to.

Requirements

  • Enrolled a 4 year college level degree in the related field of study (BME or Mechanical Engineer Etc.)
  • Time management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficient in the following computer software applications: Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance. instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Work safely and follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures.
  • For all on-the-job injuries or accidents, must notify manager/supervisor immediately.

Responsibilities

  • Project overview: The intern will have the opportunity to work with engineers on design activities as part of the research phase and will be tasked with multiple clinically relevant test method activities.
  • Work on projects that will help develop analytical, audit, research, testing and validation skills.
  • Attend and participate in department meetings.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and forms.
  • Use Excel, Word, Project Management, or Visio to create correspondence, spreadsheets, forms, graphs, flowcharts, etc.
  • Provide customer service to the department’s internal and external customers.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant quality and regulatory/legal requirements.
  • Learn a variety of medical device technologies including disposables and capital.
  • Complete testing for design freeze and design verification for ongoing R&D projects.
  • Produce test results and to present them back to managing engineers.
  • May perform other duties as assigned
  • Manages in order to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory/legal requirements
  • Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements
