About The Position

The Computer Science Research Institute (CSRI) at Sandia National Laboratories is seeking summer R&D graduate interns to engage in collaborative research across various domains in computer science and applied mathematics. Interns will work on projects related to advanced computer architectures, machine learning, data sciences, and more, gaining hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary research environment. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge computational research and the opportunity to work directly with experienced staff scientists at Sandia's Albuquerque, NM and Livermore, CA laboratories.

Requirements

• Earned bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Currently enrolled full-time in a graduate program in science, engineering, or mathematics.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
• U.S. citizenship or legal residency.

Nice To Haves

• Strong communication skills for multi-disciplinary teamwork.
• Experience in software development and programming (C++, C, Fortran, Matlab, Java, Python).
• Knowledge of parallel programming (MPI, OpenMP).
• Experience with mathematical modeling techniques.
