This role requires a commitment of 4 days in-office per week at our facility in Garden Grove, CA as well as full-time hours (40 hours a week). Duration: 10-11 weeks (May 26 to August 7 OR June 22 to August 28) Relocation Support: A $1,000 relocation stipend is available for interns currently residing more than 50 miles from Garden Grove, CA. Compensation: Earn an hourly rate of $25-35 USD per hour. Job Summary: We are currently seeking an ambitious engineering student to join our Powertrain Manufacturing team. As an intern, you will support the development and manufacturing of Harbinger’s Electric Drive Unit system, including the rotor and stator. The primary responsibilities for this position will include assisting with the design and testing of production tooling and equipment, developing manufacturing standards and documentation, and supporting cross-functional process improvement efforts. The role also offers the opportunity to build valuable experience at a fast paced, high growth startup during a critical early product development stage.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program or greater in related field
  • Work authorized in the United States OR ability to obtain J-1/F-1 visa
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and design of manufacturing standards, processes, equipment, and tooling for the complete Powertrain system including the Rotor, Stator and Electric Drive Unit. Ensure these processes meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Support the development and documentation of work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve production issues.
  • Assist in the design, testing, and validation of new tools and equipment.
  • Support the continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing practices.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
