About The Position

The Power Electronics Engineering Intern will be responsible for assisting with tasks such as modeling, simulation, hardware design, embedded control software, prototyping, validation testing and technical documentation for power conversions systems or subsystems under development for the the company’s Smart Grid products.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in an Electrical Engineering degree program, preferably at the Master’s level.
  • Coursework and/or laboratory work experience in power electronics.
  • Strong analytical skills and willingness to learn in a hands‑on, team‑oriented environment
  • Familiar with precautions for working safely in a high-power high-voltage lab.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in electrical power systems, or energy infrastructure preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Characterization testing of high-power (>100kW) transformers, inductors, or SiC FETs modules.
  • Power electronics system simulations for fault analysis and/or response to usage profiles
  • Investigation and evaluation of gate drive technologies
  • Support evaluation/selection of next gen SiC MOSFET modules
  • Power or gate drive board design for our next gen SiC MOSFET modules
  • Simulation, prototyping and testing of a high-frequency transformer
