Policy & Advocacy Internship – Summer 2026 Role Description Department: Policy & Advocacy Employment Type: Part-time (up to 15 hours) Location: Austin, Brownsville, Dallas, or Houston (in-person availability required) ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW The American Civil Liberties Union of Texas is a leading civil rights organization in the Lone Star State. ROLE OVERVIEW The ACLU of Texas invites undergraduate and graduate students to apply for an internship in all departments. This internship will be held during the summer of 2026. Individuals passionate about civil liberties who are interested in developing skills in the social justice community engagement and advocacy space in the local and state context will find an internship with the ACLU of Texas a rewarding learning experience. We are looking for individuals who are curious, creative, and detail-oriented; have strong critical thinking skills and enjoy interacting with community members at public events and are committed to fighting for our rights. INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW Time Commitment: Internships are part-time, requiring a minimum commitment of hours per week. This internship requires in-person work and some non-traditional work hours, such as nights or weekends. Duration: Summer: 10 weeks (June 1, 2026 – August 10, 2026)
