Requirements

  • Enrolled as a full-time student in good standing and have completed the first P1 semester of a Doctor of Pharmacy program within the U.S. that is accredited (or in the process of pursuing accreditation) by the Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education.
  • Alternatively, a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate who has achieved Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee TM (FPGEC) Certification through the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) will be considered.
  • Prior experience as a pharmacy technician preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the pharmacist in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to the patient.
  • Performs duties of a pharmacy technician; gathers, labels and distributes medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Packages, prepares and safely compounds medications including hazardous substances accurately and efficiently.
  • Handles, manages and distributes controlled substances in compliance with regulatory requirements and department policies.
  • Assists with drug diversion surveillance.
  • Assists with training new pharmacy staff.
  • Assists with maintaining accurate medication inventories.
  • Effectively communicates utilizing established systems and processes.
  • Demonstrates good organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize critical work appropriately.
  • Assures timely delivery of product to the patient care areas.
  • Provides optimal customer service through verbal and written communication skills.
