About The Position

The intern pharmacist would assist the full-time pharmacy staff during times of pharmacist PTO, as an intern may perform many of the functions of a pharmacist while under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Requirements

• Previous retail pharmacy experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Filling prescriptions.
• Patient counseling.
• Answering patient inquiries.
• Answering drug information requests from providers.
• Obtaining prior authorizations.
• Consulting prescribers about prescription problems.
• Ensuring proper billing of prescriptions.
• Performing medication therapy management.
• Maintaining drug inventory.
• Ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
• Ordering medications from wholesalers.
• Consulting drug references for information.
