The Membership Marketing Intern will support the membership marketing initiatives within the Membership Department. This internship offers hands-on experience in museum operations, digital organization, project management, and emerging technology research within the cultural sector. It is a 12-week paid internship, approximately 10 hours per week at $17.87/hour, with an anticipated start date of November 3, 2025.

  • Participate in the rebranding initiative for membership welcome packets in preparation for the opening of the new permanent collection building.
  • Collaborate with design and marketing teams on brand consistency.
  • Support testing and implementation of new welcome packet materials.
  • Support seasonal membership projects including the membership holiday gift guide and the membership wrap report.
  • Learn to manage and organize the physical archive of historical membership marketing materials.
  • Provide assistance to implement new organizational systems for membership digital files.
  • Learn proper cataloguing and accessibility of marketing assets.
  • Provide support in creating comprehensive templates for managing membership inventory items including tote bags, catalogues, promotional materials, and other items related to member benefits.
  • Learn to develop tracking systems for inventory management and distribution.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Support benchmark research on peer museums' use of AI for customer service, copywriting, etc.
  • Learn to prepare comprehensive reports on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Learn to analyze trends in museum membership marketing and digital engagement strategies.
  • Support benchmark colleague organizations on membership welcome strategies.
  • Internship applicants must be currently enrolled in an academic program, or recently graduated within 1 year, and reside in the Los Angeles vicinity.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace.
  • Interest in museums, arts administration, or marketing.
  • Interest in emerging technologies and AI applications.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Hands-on experience in museum membership operations and marketing.
