What You’ll Do: Support purchasing controls and supplier quality initiatives, including assisting with supplier updates and Quality Agreement transitions to VB Spine Learn and apply inspection techniques using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and advanced inspection systems (e.g., CVision) Assist in developing and refining inspection plans, including Streamlined Inspection Plans (SIP), to improve efficiency and accuracy Take ownership of assigned Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) and Nonconformance (NC) projects, including root cause analysis and documentation Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities by supporting evaluations of nonconforming product and contributing to data-driven decisions Gain exposure to supplier management by supporting audits, site visits, and issue-resolution activities alongside Quality and Manufacturing Engineers Assist with supplier-driven change implementation by preparing and executing updates to quality documentation Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations teams Clearly document findings, analyses, and results in alignment with quality system requirements What You Bring: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employment-based sponsorship Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Flexibility and adaptability within changing priorities Ability to exercise independent judgment while working collaboratively Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Demonstrated leadership qualities and business acumen Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor What You'll Gain: Hands-on experience supporting quality assurance, supplier management, and operational excellence initiatives Exposure to inspection systems, CAPA processes, MRB decision-making, and supplier oversight Practical experience within a regulated medical device environment Insight into U.S., EU, and global quality and regulatory expectations Meaningful work that strengthens both technical and professional skill sets Opportunity to experience VB Spine’s culture prior to considering full-time opportunities Professional networking with engineers, quality professionals, and cross-functional partners Experience working with cross-functional and global teams The ability to apply classroom learning to real-world business and engineering challenges Why VB Spine? Compensation: This is a paid internship position with an hourly rate of $30 per hour. This role is based in Leesburg, VA or Allendale, NJ. While non-local candidates may apply, relocation and housing assistance are not provided, and candidates are responsible for all related expenses. VB Spine reserves the right to offer compensation outside of this listed range. Final compensation is determined on a case-by-case basis and considers factors such as experience level, skill set, and market conditions.
