Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited registered nursing program with expected graduation the following calendar year.
  • Completed Nurse Aide licensure in the state of Nebraska but does not have to be active.
  • Required certifications: BLS preferred
  • Sit frequently.
  • Stand and/or walk frequently.
  • Drive frequently in most weather conditions, except when safety is a factor.
  • Lift 50 pounds frequently
  • Carry 25 pounds frequently
  • Bend, kneel, and crawl frequently.
  • Reach floor to overhead frequently.
  • Climb stairs in a variety of situations frequently.
  • Visual acuity, color vision manual dexterity and eye hand coordination within normal limits.

Responsibilities

  • Provide routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care.
  • Responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical record
  • Provide a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.
  • Demonstrates understanding and competency in technical skills and procedures.
  • Apply sound judgement through the nursing process in the management of patient care.
  • Establish therapeutic rapport with patients and families helps foster collaborative relationships with coworkers, physicians and ancillary department members.
  • Develops a framework for integrated care of the patient throughput the health care continuum.
  • Successful orientation to units and shift requirements.
