The Intern role provides administrative and project support within assigned department, while gaining valuable, hands-on experience in a healthcare environment. NorDx is a not-for-profit clinical laboratory based in Scarborough, Maine. Established in 1976 as the first licensed independent laboratory in Maine, NorDx has grown to provide comprehensive, dependable, quality laboratory services to hospitals, physicians, long-term care providers, other laboratories and health care organizations throughout Northern New England. We are committed to supporting our partners in health care by providing superior quality and cost-effective laboratory services which emphasize customer satisfaction, value, innovation, technology and exceptional service. We manage and execute all aspects of diagnostic analyses thoroughly, accurately and efficiently. Laboratory results are used in approximately 70% of decisions involved in the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of any given illness. Scarborough has 38 employees spanning different shifts. We are the reference lab, we perform the majority of testing for the system and external clients. Intern projects might include CAP readiness, organizational/office tasks, QFTB aliquoting, pulling pending lists.
