About The Position

The Intern - Mechatronics position at HellermannTyton Corporation offers an opportunity for students enrolled in a mechanical engineering program to gain hands-on experience in the development of mechatronics systems. Under the guidance of the Product Development Manager, the intern will engage in mechanical design, electronics prototyping, and software development while adhering to corporate policies and maintaining required documentation.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a mechanical engineering degree program with at least sophomore status.
• Experience using CAD modeling software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or Catia.
• Software programming skills for PLCs, Raspberry Pi, Arduino in languages such as C++ or Python.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Develop/build prototypes, proof-of-concepts, models, and other means of conveying ideas.
• Design and develop electromechanical devices or systems.
• Implement control circuits or algorithms for electromechanical devices or systems.
• Support initiatives in I4.0, machine learning, and advanced manufacturing areas.
• Provide support from an electronics, hardware, firmware, and software perspective.
• Assist other departments needing engineering expertise.
