Requirements

  • Recent graduate (within the past year) OR student currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a degree-seeking program (diploma, certificate, etc.) at a 2-year or 4-year college/university, or graduate/professional school.
  • Major in Mechanical Engineering, Astronomy, Physics, or a related technology field.
  • Academic project or work experience in mechanical engineering, robotics, manufacturing, or product design.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with high initiative and recent experience across various aspects of product development and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside our team on real-world projects, such as designing mechanical systems, developing prototypes, improving energy-efficient machines, or enhancing safety equipment for first responders.
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and other professionals on diverse projects—creating product designs, optimizing manufacturing processes, developing robotics or automated systems, or testing mechanical performance under real-world conditions.
  • Conceive and develop your own mechanical engineering project proposal and present it to the Review Committee, demonstrating creativity, technical skills, and practical problem-solving.
  • Gain hands-on field experience by collecting performance data, testing prototypes, or assisting with the assembly and maintenance of mechanical systems.
