As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Chamberlain Group, you will engage in meaningful projects that are integral to our business strategy and transformation. This internship is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in mechanical engineering principles and practices, particularly in the design and development of consumer products focused on access control. You will work on projects that involve the design and sustainability of products such as wireless remote controls, garage door openers, gate openers, and commercial door openers. Your role will involve supporting other mechanical engineers in their daily tasks while collaborating within a cross-functional team environment. The internship program emphasizes development and skills training, offering informative sessions on workplace success, time management, and effective communication. You will have opportunities to network with full-time employees and other interns, fostering early-career connections. Additionally, you will be assigned a mentor who will guide you throughout your internship, and you will have the chance to engage in conversations with company leaders, including the CEO, through Q&A sessions. Community involvement is also a key aspect of the program, with volunteer outings organized for interns to give back to the community. In this role, you will be responsible for modifying or creating low-complexity parts, applying principles of material strengths, statics, dynamics, and material science. You will create component and assembly drawings using Creo, attend project meetings, and perform basic stress/strain calculations and FEA analysis. Your contributions will include creating prototype parts, participating in failure analysis, and assisting team members with various projects while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
