As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Volvo Group, you will play a crucial role in shaping sustainable transport solutions for the future. This internship is designed for students who are eager to gain hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in the areas of chassis and battery electric vehicle structures. You will be part of the Vehicle Engineering (VE) team, which is responsible for the integration and development of technologies into complete trucks for all brands within the Volvo Group. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on exciting projects that contribute to the development of next-generation technologies in the automotive industry. In this role, you will assist with component development, working directly with chassis components such as frames, cross members, Energy Storage Systems, EMOB Components, and Power Electronics Modules. You will be involved in creating new or updating existing CAD models and part drawings using CREO-Parametric, as well as releasing components and product documentation through a formal engineering process. Collaboration is key, as you will work alongside colleagues from Chassis Engineering and other disciplines to meet project deliverables and effectively communicate the status of your work. This internship not only provides you with the chance to apply your academic knowledge in a real-world setting but also emphasizes the importance of collaboration and lifelong learning. You will report to the Chassis and EV Structure Group Manager, gaining insights and mentorship from experienced engineers in the department. The Volvo Group is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, allowing you to thrive and contribute to innovative solutions in the manufacturing industry.
