Service Year Alliance is working to make a year of paid, full-time service — a service year — a common expectation and opportunity for all young Americans. We envision a future in which national service is an integral part of growing up in America. To make this vision a reality, we partner with states, agencies, and local organizations to expand the number of service year opportunities through new models and funding sources. To enhance the corps member and alumni experience, we develop partnerships to build and scale key national service innovations to demonstrate how service transforms lives. At the core of our work is a commitment to raising-up the voices and experiences of young people, corps members, and alumni. The Marketing & Communications Intern will join a mission-driven team dedicated to making service years an opportunity for all young Americans. This is a growth-focused internship and is ideal for someone looking to gain professional experience in managing social media platforms, writing creative copy, and researching the latest marketing trends. Reporting to the Director, Communications, the intern will gain experience in public relations, digital communications, including creating content for social media and email newsletters, conducting research related to our communications strategy and organizational priorities, participating in team meetings, and sharing and presenting ideas and feedback with the full team. This position is part-time and fully remote. While this person should expect to work virtually, and we're willing to be flexible for the selected candidate's scheduling requirements, Service Year Alliance's team generally holds eastern time working hours. This is a paid summer internship that starts in early June and will conclude in early August, with an option to extend into the fall.
