About The Position

Lanteris Space Systems is currently seeking a motivated engineering student to join our AIT Manufacturing team as a 2026 summer intern located in our Palo Alto CA facility. We address a broad spectrum of needs for our customers, including mission systems engineering, product design, spacecraft manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing. As the AIT manufacturing intern, you will be offered opportunities to gain hands-on experience in spacecraft manufacturing processes and tooling used in satellite production. In this role you will support assembly operations, assist with test processes, help document manufacturing procedures, and work alongside experienced technicians and engineers to fabricate satellites and spacecraft.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with completion of two years or more, or currently enrolled in a master's degree program in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, materials science, manufacturing engineering, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated interest in hands-on manufacturing or materials work through coursework, projects, or prior experience

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in flight materials, manufacturing processes, or aerospace structures
  • Familiarity with aerospace through coursework or projects
  • Group project experience, ability to collaborate with team members of different technical disciplines
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and attention to detail
  • Experience or interest in process improvement techniques
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or similar suite
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and follow safety protocols
