The Tampa Bay Rays are seeking three Major League Operations Interns for the 2025 season. This internship is designed for individuals from diverse academic, professional, and athletic backgrounds who are eager to gain hands-on experience in Major League Baseball operations. The primary responsibility of the interns will be to conduct research and provide content for Major League advance reports throughout the MLB season. This role offers a unique opportunity to assist in various Baseball Operations projects through the intern development program, allowing interns to gain exposure to areas beyond Advance Scouting. Interns will be expected to provide content for each Major League advance report, conducting thorough and proactive research through video and data analysis to gather relevant information about upcoming opponents. They will present their findings clearly and concisely to various audiences, including Major League coaches and operations staff. Timeliness is crucial, as interns will need to complete each report promptly under the guidance of the Major League Operations department and coaching staff. Additionally, interns will assist in the collection and distribution of scouting video related to the MLB Dugout iPad program and respond to ad hoc staff requests. The internship also emphasizes personal and professional development. Interns will participate actively in the internship development program, completing projects aimed at enhancing front-office skills and personal development goals. These projects may cover various areas, including Scouting, Player Development, Research & Development, or general Baseball Operations. Interns will create presentations, host class sessions, and engage in required readings and podcast listening to prepare for meetings. Interns can expect to execute projects with precision and timeliness, actively contribute to improving current processes, and build on their skills and knowledge base. They will develop relevant technical skills, broaden their understanding of baseball concepts, and explore additional relevant topics.
