About The Position

As a Logistics and Distribution Intern, you will be splitting your time between our Logistics and Distribution departments to gain real world experience and assist with our Peak season. Roughly 25% of this role will be based in a warehouse environment. We are committed to providing you with valuable learning opportunities as you share your ideas and recommendations with the team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned; subject to change) Assist Distribution team in daily reporting and metrics Monitor aging orders, backlogs and customer deadlines Develop reporting on rental truck usage and spend among our sales team and recommend improvements Analyze outside vendor transportation spend and present cost savings opportunities Create transportation routing guide for our internal vendors Review cartonization rules in Distribution and cost impacts on shipping Quantify inbound reconditioning cost by state and historical shipment timing Troubleshoot misc. transporation issues from sales and customer service teams Assist with other special projects QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty and responsibility listed above. Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Actively enrolled in a College or University program working towards a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics Management or other related Business field
  • Microsoft Office skills (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Must be able to work in a warehousing environment which includes prolonged periods of standing, and ability to lift up to 30lbs
  • Able to collaborate, communicate and work with various levels of associates.
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to self-motivate and self-manage
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and math skills

Responsibilities
