To learn more about our mission and values, go to https://lmdevpartners.com/mission-and-values/ What You’ll Do As the Development Intern as part of the NY Affordable team, you will work on new construction affordable projects in the NYC area. Our summer interns are expected to work independently and collectively, as part of a team. An understanding of real estate finance is required (and successful applicants may be asked to demonstrate this through a brief exercise). L+M offers a comprehensive intern program. During the ten-week program, interns will gain exposure to the industry, tour several jobsites, and make a presentation on lessons learned to senior management. Specific duties will vary depending on the team but include tasks similar to these:

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older college student.
  • Pursuing graduate degree in real estate, finance, urban planning, architecture, or similar field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written & verbal), must be comfortable speaking and interacting directly with the public.
  • Strong interest in community building with an understanding of complex systems and structures that promote social and economic equity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • An understanding of real estate finance is required (and successful applicants may be asked to demonstrate this through a brief exercise).

  • Real Estate Development majors a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collecting due diligence materials
  • Reviewing legal documents including commercial leases & LOIs
  • Financial analysis of a project or property
  • Coordinating meetings and project teams
  • Assisting with Request for Proposal (RFP) responses
  • Assisting with community planning efforts, and the development and facilitation of outreach activities
  • Site visits and market analysis
