The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK) seeks one full-time Legal Intern to provide legal and policy support for the regulation of tobacco and nicotine products by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and state, local, and Tribal authorities. In this role, you will support litigation, legislative, and regulatory activities, including legal research and policy analysis related to FDA regulation and the defense of state and local tobacco control laws. You are likely to see the issues you work on at CTFK reported on in major news outlets across the country, and you will play a key role in these efforts by working on substantive assignments as if you are a full-time staff attorney. We see our interns as a full member of the team and include them in daily communications and weekly meetings related to CTFK’s advocacy efforts. The position is based in Washington, D.C. and works with attorneys and a paralegal on the Legal and Regulatory Affairs team. CTFK is working under a hybrid work model and requires full COVID-19 vaccination for all staff and interns. Alternatively, CTFK will work with interns interested in gaining academic credit for their summer experience.
