About The Position

Note: we are unable to hire in every state 20 HOURS PER WEEK Summary: The Legal Intern supports the General Counsel and Compliance Officer by conducting research, updating legal resources, and assisting with document and system transition efforts. This role is ideal for students interested in or currently pursuing a legal career.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled student at an accredited law school; OR an undergraduate student with interest in attending law currently enrolled in a bachelor's or associate degree program at an accredited college or university.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Eager to learn about and understand contracts and related contracting processes.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain the confidentiality of company and customer information.
  • Ability to rapidly understand and apply legal concepts.
  • Proficient in Office365 applications, including Word, Teams, and Outlook, and the ability to learn and understand new software applications to support Legal Operations.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and aa general interest in learning.
  • Able to organize and work on multiple projects with various priorities at the same time.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a small team, while also working independently under the supervision of the General Counsel and Compliance Officer.
  • Delivers high quality results in a timely manner.
  • Has the ability to break complex subjects into explainable concepts.
  • To facilitate working from home, and as a requirement for this role, candidates must provide their own reliable, high speed internet access with sufficient bandwidth to execute all job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research related to policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with updating customer and vendor contracts, internal documentation, and support resources.
  • Support migration of contract and compliance data and processes to replacement systems.
  • Organize and maintain customer and vendor contracts and related materials.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Perform additional special projects and administrative or research tasks, as needed.
