The ERCOT Internship Program allows college students the opportunity to develop their skills in a technical and high-paced, professional work environment. Interns receive assignments and projects that aim to solve real challenges facing the electric industry. The internship program also allows students to experience working alongside ERCOT employees and being part of a team. Throughout the internship, ERCOT leaders are able to evaluate each individual interns' capabilities and compatibility with ERCOT's mission, vision and values.

  • Develop skills in a technical and high-paced professional work environment.
  • Work on assignments and projects that aim to solve real challenges facing the electric industry.
  • Collaborate with ERCOT employees and be part of a team.
  • Participate in the ERCOT Engineer Development Program (EDP) for entry-level engineers.
  • Engage in the GMS Development Program (GDP) for entry-level and early career professionals.
  • Participate in the System Operator Development Program (ODP) to prepare for critical positions.
  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other IT related field.
  • Maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Availability to work on-site in Taylor, TX at least 2 days per week.
