About The Position

The IT Operations Specialist I is an entry-level position within the Information Technology department at Fluor. This role involves executing assigned tasks, collaborating on IT projects, and maintaining knowledge of new technologies and platforms. The specialist will support existing solutions, assist in preparing specifications and user requirements, and participate in discussions to optimize solutions across cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • A combination of education and directly related experience equal to four (4) years.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various audiences including management, coworkers, clients, and vendors.
  • Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in technical services for hardware/software engineering and production support of IT.
  • Ability to demonstrate technical and non-technical communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Able to analyze and act upon operational reports.
  • Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze reports and remediate vulnerabilities in firewalls, routers, and Intrusion Detection Systems.
  • Some proficiency with telecommunications, LAN/WAN, and multi-platform environments.
  • Some proficiency in voice telecommunications technologies.
  • Knowledge in support of messaging environments.
  • Proficiency in end user services support.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, maintain, support, and modify existing solutions utilizing standard procedures and techniques.
  • Apply methodology to support business applications and investigate operational problems as necessary.
  • Assist in the preparations of full spectrum of specifications and user requirements.
  • Assist higher-level specialists in the maintenance of solutions.
  • Participate with cross-functional team members in issue identification, process impacts, and solution development discussions.
