NexGen is looking to add an Intern in the In Plant, Special Projects Department to its team for Summer 2026, with the position to be based in the Field at one of our Project Locations. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in industrial construction, maintenance, and operations, working closely with both Project Management and Field Operations teams.

Observe and assist with project safety efforts, including helping with safety documentation and participating in safety meetings.
Support the review and organization of job cost information and assist in distributing project estimates to relevant team members.
Assist with quantity takeoffs and help prepare project estimates, budgets, and proposals.
Contribute to project scheduling activities by helping update timelines and learning about sequencing processes.
Help monitor project progress by gathering data and assisting in basic production tracking and reporting.
Assist with cost tracking and administrative tasks, such as compiling reports and organizing project files.
Support procurement activities by helping track materials and equipment orders, deliveries, and inventory records.
Learn to assist with change order processes, including logging and organizing change requests.
Help coordinate communication with general contractors and owners under close supervision.
Assist in preparing field reports, tracking data such as labor hours, productivity, material usage, and safety observations.
Learn and follow company policies, procedures, and industry standards to support compliance and quality efforts.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Strong organizational skills with effective communication abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Comfortable working in both office and job site environments.
Willingness to travel as required.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
