About The Position

We offer students the opportunity to spend a summer working at one of Securitas’ US Operating Centers. This internship program offers undergraduate students with real-world application of business within the North America Shared Services organization. You will participate in an 11-week internship located in Parsippany, New Jersey for 32-40 hours per week and working a hybrid schedule. As an Internal Communications Intern, you will gain valuable work experience and skills supporting the Internal Communications team. Successful completion of the internship program could lead to a return internship for the following summer or employment at the organization in the future.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with Microsoft 365 Teams is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze and resolve issues
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations
  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey
  • Handling and being exposed to sensitive and confidential information
  • Prolonged computer use
  • Schedule will be hybrid, with 3 days/week on-site expected

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and publish content across internal channels
  • Create new dashboards, monitor engagement, and report performance
  • Support internal campaigns and initiatives
  • Maintain asset libraries and templates
  • Lead a focused AI enablement workstream to expand department capacity (researching tools, piloting use cases, drafting guidance, and supporting the integration of AI solutions that enhance internal communications workflows and employee engagement).
