About The Position

This internship will be part-time hours during school semester and full-time hours during the summer break. This is an in-office position in Grand Rapids, MI. General Summary As an Interior Design Intern, you’ll be an active collaborator on our creative team, contributing to projects of all sizes while gaining hands-on experience, industry insight, and meaningful mentorship. You’ll jump into a wide range of responsibilities—including material sampling, palette development, conceptual design, space planning, documentation, design charrettes, and business support—working as a fully engaged and valued team member. This role is perfect for a driven, curious design student eager to learn, make an impact, and grow within a fast-paced professional environment. Requirements

  • Currently a student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture or Interior Design. Students should have completed at least (2) years of classwork in an interior design-based program.
  • Familiarity with design programs such as Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, SketchUp/Enscape, Twin Motion.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take initiative on individual tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu, Autodesk BIM 360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) is helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting design team throughout entire design process
  • Collaborate in brainstorm sessions, and project team meetings
  • Conduct programming efforts, space planning, and furniture layouts
  • Assist in material, lighting, appliance, furniture, and accessory selection
  • Assist within the Materials Library
  • Possess/demonstrate communication skills to work with all assigned project team members and motivated to engage and ask questions.
  • Assist in preparing presentations, conceptual drawings, sketches and/or 3d images/renderings based on the candidate's proficiency, skill, and knowledge
  • Stay updated on industry standards and best practices in interior design.
  • Perform related interior design duties as assigned.
