About The Position

The Instructional Design Intern will support RailPros’ Training and Media Services team as we design, develop and deliver engaging learning experiences for our railroad-based customers. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate passionate about instructional design, adult learning, media production and the business of employee training. The intern will collaborate with subject matter experts and Training team members to observe and participate in the creation of impactful training content across various formats, including eLearning, instructor-led training, and multimedia assets.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Instructional Design, Learning Design and Technology, Workforce Development, Adult Education, or a related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Interest in learning instructional design tools and multimedia production.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate).
Experience with video editing or graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Canva).
Exposure to Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Responsibilities

Assist in the design, development and revision of instructional materials for digital and instructor-led training.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify learning objectives and target audience needs.
Support the creation of interactive and engaging content using tools such as Articulate Storyline, PowerPoint, and video editing software.
Help produce multimedia elements including graphics, audio, and video for training modules.
Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for training delivery.
Assist with file management and version control within our Learning Management System (LMS) and Sharepoint sites.
Conduct quality assurance reviews of training materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
Observe and support administrative tasks related to training development, documentation, delivery and recordkeeping.
Attend team meetings and contribute to project planning and updates.
