About The Position

At BHSI, we believe in empowering our customers to navigate a world full of uncertainty. Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance plays a vital role in helping individuals and businesses manage risk by transferring potential financial losses to insurers. An insurer’s IT department is essential, and enables the company to deliver reliable, responsive, and innovative insurance services. It supports critical systems that manage policy administration, claims processing, billing, and customer service—ensuring these functions run smoothly, securely, and at scale. IT also plays a vital role in maintaining regulatory compliance and protecting sensitive data through robust cybersecurity practices. Beyond technology, the IT team helps shape the company’s culture by fostering collaboration, continuous learning, and a problem-solving mindset. It’s a space where innovation is encouraged, and cross-functional partnerships thrive, making IT not just a support function but a key driver of business growth and transformation. Interns play a vital role at BHSI by bringing fresh perspectives, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. They help support ongoing projects, often assisting with tasks like troubleshooting, documentation, testing, and basic development work. This allows our teammates to focus on more complex initiatives while giving interns valuable hands-on experience. Interns also contribute to innovation by asking questions and challenging assumptions, which can lead to process improvements or new ideas. Importantly, internships serve as a pipeline for future talent, allowing companies to evaluate potential hires and build a workforce that’s already familiar with their systems and culture. As an Information Technology Intern, you will gain exposure to enterprise systems that support policy administration, claims processing, and billing. BHSI IT interns work with modern technologies such as cloud platforms, databases, and development tools, while learning how IT enables regulatory compliance and data security. This position provides exposure to project management, data analytics, and cross-functional collaboration, offering a strong foundation in both technical skills and industry knowledge.
