THE ROLE: The Intern - Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering will assist site engineers with process development, methods, labor standards, and support for productivity improvements. Knowledge of classical IE functions and Lean/Six Sigma required. Experience in manufacturing assembly preferred. The position will be located at our Uniontown, Pennsylvania manufacturing operation. Requirements

  • Attending a local accredited University studying towards a BS in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum rising junior in good academic standing.
  • Excellent PC skills preferred with working knowledge of MS Office and AutoCad required.
  • Basic knowledge and/or training in 5S, Lean/Six Sigma preferred statistical tools preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work with little or no supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing assembly preferred.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling (Creo) a plus.
  • Experience with manufacturing assembly or electronic assembly a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Interest in manufacturing processes, process yields, process costs, and operations.
  • Develop and update production work instructions and standard work.
  • Perform time studies as needed for direct and indirect labor operations.
  • Assist with facility layout drawings in AutoCad.
  • Design/3D print assembly fixturing for process improvement.
  • Provide project support as needed in a team environment.
