As an Intern on HV Charging Mechanical, you must possess a strong understanding of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals and CAD. Requirements

  • A strong understanding of Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals
  • Experience working with CAD
  • Experience with data analysis using Excel, MATLAB, Python, or similar
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
  • Hands on Mechanical Engineering experience
  • Field(s) of study: Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program at an accredited university
  • Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high voltage design for automotive or aerospace
  • Familiarity with the basics of modern automotive HV system architecture
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Optimize production parts for size, weight, durability, performance and cost
  • Use Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies to plan and test characteristics of new products still in the early design stage
  • Take ownership of components needed for building and testing of charging hardware (charge ports, OBCs, HV harnesses), completing every aspect of component engineering development from concept to build to final validation
  • Root cause testing failures seen in Design Validation of state-of-the-art HV assemblies and explore design solutions to solve them
  • Integrate mechanical designs with HV electrical systems in a multidisciplinary environment
