About The Position

West Bend's Internship Program offers students a dynamic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional setting while contributing to meaningful projects that support our mission and values. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals, develop key skills, and gain exposure to the inner workings of a successful organization. As a Human Resources Intern, you will join our dynamic team of HR professionals on a journey to make our workplace the best it can be. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in all facets of Human Resources including talent acquisition, talent management, learning & development, compensation & benefits, HR business partnering, and HR operations. This internship offers a unique chance to gain practical experience in HR strategies, and a deeper understanding of the vital role HR plays in business success.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in human resources and a desire to actively learn and contribute to HR strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Self-motivated and eager to explore various aspects of HR functions.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Observe strategic HR discussions, assist with employee relations documentation, and support change initiatives.
  • Support recruiting activities including job postings, interview coordination, and candidate sourcing and outreach.
  • Shadow recruiters during interviews and debrief sessions.
  • Support performance management and talent program initiatives.
  • Assist in organizing training sessions and materials, manage LMS content, analyze training effectiveness and feedback collection.
  • Contribute to compensation analysis, benefits communications, and wellness initiatives.
  • Shadow team members during vendor meetings and audits.
  • Maintain HRIS data, support compliance tracking, and help improve HR processes.
  • Assist with creating reports and presentations.
