About The Position

The Human Resources Intern provides a diverse range of benefits, recruiting, and training support for approximately 125 employees and 400 seasonal/variable staff. The intern will create and submit job requisitions and post open positions on internal and external job boards, prepare offer letters, initiate onboarding and background checks, assist with new hire orientations, staff trainings, and policy development, assist in benefit plan renewals and Open Enrollment, make recommendations and updates to the staff intranet, research and analyze best practices in Human Resources, and provide administrative support to the Human Resources team as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability and have the integrity to handle and maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent work ethic, positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Outstanding writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational, customer service, research and project management skills
  • Course of study or prior internship experience in Human Resources preferred

Responsibilities

  • Create and submit job requisitions and post open positions on internal and external job boards
  • Prepare offer letters, initiate onboarding and background checks
  • Assist with new hire orientations, staff trainings, and policy development
  • Assist in benefit plan renewals and Open Enrollment
  • Make recommendations and updates to the staff intranet
  • Research and analyze best practices in Human Resources; recommend and develop new programs to meet departmental objectives
  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources team as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
