About The Position

USA Lacrosse is looking for an unpaid/for credit intern to work with our Marketing team. The Intern, Graphic Design will work closely with the Art Director and the Marketing & Communications team to produce graphic design content to support USA Lacrosse’s marketing & social media initiatives. This internship will allow you to learn about working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, interfacing with multiple departments while gaining hands-on experience and learning essential graphic design practices for your professional growth and future career.

Requirements

  • Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in graphic design, communications, marketing, or related field.
  • Eligibility to earn college credit for internship a plus.
  • Ability to dedicate 15-30 hours per week from May to August 2026. This includes the ability to work onsite at USA Lacrosse’s headquarters office in Sparks, MD.
  • Familiarity with sports, lacrosse a plus, with the desire to learn and appreciate the sport so you can capture images to tell a story.
  • Demonstrated passion for visual storytelling, branding, and marketing design.
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
  • Strong attention to detail and an understanding of basic design principles including layout, color, and typography.
  • Ability to follow brand guidelines and work within existing templates while also contributing fresh ideas.
  • Familiarity with designing for both print and digital platforms is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn about the sport of lacrosse and contribute to its promotion through creative work.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, dynamic, cross-functional team working toward a common goal.
  • Flexibility with your work schedule, including the ability to work nights and weekends based on event needs.
  • Ability to align with USA Lacrosse's Mission, Vision, and Values to support our initiatives and organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the creation of visual assets for both digital and print use, including social media graphics, flyers, email templates, and event materials.
  • Supports the design team by updating existing creative templates and making revisions to in-progress projects.
  • Collaborates with the Art Director and marketing team to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and visual consistency across all materials.
  • Organizes and manages design files using established file naming conventions and internal tools.
  • Participates in brainstorming sessions and team meetings to contribute creative ideas for campaigns and initiatives.
  • Stays current on design trends and techniques to bring fresh, innovative perspectives to projects.
  • Provides general support on design-related tasks as needed, including production prep and asset resizing.
