About The Position

Performs routine administrative support work. Work involves performing a wide range of administrative and office support work for the department. Employees at this level perform assignments following specific instructions and are subject to frequent review by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a discipline related to area of assignment
  • No work experience required
  • Must be at least 16 years of age and currently enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited college/university.
  • Employees at least 18 years of age with valid driver's license may be assigned driving duties and may use power tools.
  • Considerable knowledge of: Research, plan preparation, design, testing, construction and maintenance of facilities
  • Considerable knowledge of: Data analysis and interpretation
  • Considerable knowledge of: Budgeting methods and procedures
  • Considerable knowledge of: Policy research
  • Proficient skill in: Maintaining effective working relationships with others
  • Proficient skill in: Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files, and reports
  • Proficient skill in: Communicating technical information effectively
  • Proficient skill in: Using database management systems and associated applications
  • Proficient skill in: Using computers, applicable programs, applications, and systems
  • Proficient skill in: Maintaining a safe and effective working relationship with others
  • Some skill in: Researching, analyzing, and interpreting policies and state and federal laws and regulations specific to functional area
  • Protects sensitive and confidential information
  • Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs. at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
  • Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs. at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs.
  • Sitting - prolonged periods of time
  • Standing - prolonged periods of time
  • Close Visual Acuity - work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes data and applies statistical techniques.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining databases.
  • Assists in developing project schedules, budgets, requirements, process maps, designs, risk plans, change management plans, and other project management artifacts.
  • Assists in developing the unit budget and strategic priorities.
  • Assists in the collection of field data and compiles data into statewide database.
  • Assists with special projects.
  • Composes routine reports.
  • Enters and retrieves data on a personal computer.
  • Prepares, assembles, reviews, and verifies various documents and/or forms.
  • Provides assistance to the public.
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
