ConocoPhillips is seeking Geosciences Interns to join our team in Houston, TX, for the summer of 2025. As a Geosciences Intern, you will have the opportunity to interpret subsurface geoscience and related data, contributing to our hydrocarbon exploration and development projects. This internship is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in the field, working closely with a mentor and a team of professionals. You will be involved in making recommendations for further activities related to basin studies, exploration plays, prospects, or field development. Throughout your internship, you will interact with other interns and ConocoPhillips professionals, gaining insights into various aspects of the energy industry. You may also participate in short courses or field trips that enhance your learning experience. The internship typically lasts between 10 to 12 weeks, depending on the project and your availability, with a minimum requirement of 10 weeks. Current internship positions are available in our Alaska and Lower 48 organizations, with assignments primarily located in Midland, Texas, Houston, Texas, or Anchorage, Alaska. Your responsibilities will include 3D seismic interpretation of fault juxtaposition to predict trap geometry and size, sequence stratigraphic interpretation of new exploration plays, and detailed seismic interpretation of known fields to select prospective drilling locations. You will also be involved in prospect generation and well proposals across various global locations, as well as development and recompletion opportunities in both conventional and unconventional resource plays. Additionally, you will model unconventional facies and rock types for hydraulic fracturing analysis.
