The Lifestyle Medicine department of Corewell Health is looking to hire a full-time intern to support their Culinary Medicine programs. Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area. This position will help to plan and execute the various aspects that go into running a wide variety of culinary medicine classes. These classes range from medical residents, shared medical appointments, grant funded programs, as well as classes that are open to the public and private. The class topics vary. Some of the key themes are whole plant-based cooking, the Mediterranean Diet, and anti-inflammatory diets in the prevention and reversal of chronic disease. The idea candidate would be well versed in one or more of these areas: • Cooking • Nutrition education • Project management • Marketing, communication, social media • Technology There are often many competing priorities so being well organized and prioritize work are critical in this role. Class dates and times vary throughout the week, with some classes occurring in the morning, others in the afternoon and many in the evenings. The incumbent would need to have flexibility in their schedule to accommodate the various class times. Most classes occur Monday through Thursday.
