About The Position

Lanteris Space Systems is currently seeking an Engineering student to join our 2026 summer intern program in San Jose, CA. Software Engineering is comprised of various roles that contribute to the development, production, and test of satellites. These roles design, implement, and deliver embedded flight software, provide spacecraft simulators, payload tools, and ground software, and validate software products. This team develops and delivers hardware testbeds to external customers for software development and systems integration testing. All roles involve significant collaboration with interdisciplinary teams from multiple subsystems. Life with Us Your Project: The Software engineering intern will cover the following areas for test equipment: Software simulation and emulation development engineering Hardware-in-the-loop testbed development engineering

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with completion of 2 years or more, or currently enrolled in a master's degree program in computer, electrical, mechanical, aerospace engineering, mathematics, physics, or related discipline

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems / distributions
  • Familiarity with the Python or JAVA or C++ programming language
  • Ability to learn quickly and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
  • Exposure to electrical design technology, processes, and methodology
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Mathematical skills, particularly numerical analysis methods and linear algebra
  • Debugging and trouble-shooting skills
  • Familiarity with software compilers and other software development tools
