About The Position

Interns at Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines & Horizon Air join teams throughout different departments and work on visible projects that impact our guests and business. This internship is for summer 2026. Our internships are full-time for 12 weeks, and we offer two program timelines to align with different academic calendars. This internship will be located in SeaTac, WA. If not already in the internship city, candidates will be required to relocate for the duration of the internship.

Requirements

• Microsoft Office skills (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), with an emphasis on Excel skills.
• Self-starter with natural curiosity to understand general business practices as well as airline-specific practices.
• Technical knowledge of accounting procedures.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
• Must have achieved a junior or higher academic standing at the time of application.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of US GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end journal entries and variance analysis of income statement accounts.
• Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations to identify, investigate and conclude on variances.
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external reports, such as monthly accounting packages and SEC filings.
• Special projects: Fixed Assets, DOT reporting, Internal statistics database.
