About The Position

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Internship offers students or recent graduates an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the finance sector within the healthcare industry. FP&A in a hospital environment plays a critical role in ensuring the financial stability and strategic growth of healthcare organizations. Interns will support various functions within FP&A, which typically include: Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring that financial plans align with the organization's goals. Regulatory Compliance: Aid in ensuring the hospital adheres to regulatory requirements and financial standards. Strategic Planning: Participate in developing and analyzing strategies to guide the hospital's long-term financial goals. Performance Analysis: Analyze financial performance, track key metrics, and assist in identifying areas for improvement. Data Management & Reporting: Help in managing financial data, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate documentation of financial activities. Learning Outcomes: This internship provides an in-depth understanding of the healthcare delivery process while offering exposure to the balance between financial performance, patient care, and regulatory requirements. Interns will gain valuable insight into how financial decisions impact the overall functioning of a healthcare organization. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a degree program in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • An undergraduate college degree (or soon to be completed) in economics, accounting, or a business-related field.
  • Employees in this position will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'non-frequent driver'.
  • A frequent driver is defined as one who uses their personal or University of Florida Health vehicle: At least once daily, At least five individual trips per week, or Drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of their job.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship or experience in healthcare is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools or healthcare management software is also advantageous.
