About The Position

CESA 6 is looking for a Finance Intern, come join our team! This is a limited term employment (LTE) hourly, non-benefited position, that works as needed approximately 20 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours per week during the summer. This position is located in Oshkosh, WI. SUMMARY The Finance/Accounting Intern reports directly to the Executive Director of Finance, and is primarily responsible for supporting the Agency through completion of various reports and analytical projects. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience and contribute to key financial processes, including analyzing functional actuals, developing forecasts and budgets, supporting the monthly close process, and assisting with ad hoc analysis.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be enrolled in an Accounting or Finance program.
  • A Sophomore-level standing or greater, working toward a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Basic Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word knowledge.
  • Model the core values of the agency.
  • Computer skills, including email, word processing, and virtual meeting scheduling.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google platform applications, along with the ability to learn agency-specific applications to support business operations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with diverse work teams.
  • Engage with clients in a positive manner that represents self, team, and Agency.
  • Work as a team and collaborate effectively with others to meet the needs of the Agency.
  • Process-oriented.
  • Communicate effectively and timely, verbally and in writing, to a diverse audience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in monthly close process to include but not limited to:
  • Preparation of journal entries.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Audit schedules.
  • Class center reviews.
  • Assist with fixed assets.
  • Reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
