Howmet Structure Systems is currently seeking an experienced College Intern to join our team in Houston, TX. We are seeking individuals who have a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a manufacturing environment, as well as the passion to put that experience to work to lead activities and/or support plant location team to achieve manufacturing excellence. We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic student to join our team as an Engineer Summer Intern. This position will assist engineering and manufacturing in driving improvements in quality and delivery performance through process control and product improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing a plus.
  • Relevant internship/work/research experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify areas of material waste throughout production processes.
  • Create engineering solutions to improve product yield from start to finish.
  • Identify and improve engineering technical review processes.
  • Support daily production needs for quality and engineering needs.
  • Gather and identify shop floor data for process improvements (yield and FRA).
