About the position
The intern will engage in various simulation tasks related to PS Coating, Facet COMD, PCSEL, and Epi defect simulations, utilizing programming tools such as Python and MATLAB. The role includes hands-on skills development in ZnSe passivation systems, supervised processing, COMD testing, and equipment maintenance. Additionally, the intern will be involved in data analysis tasks, including yield data consolidation and report automation.
Responsibilities
- Model the reduced electric field at the interfaces of dielectric layers and waveguides using programming tools.
- Investigate the interfaces of dielectric and ZnSe passivation layers in waveguides using programming languages.
- Conduct simulations of PCSELs incorporating ZnSe using Python.
- Simulate defect propagation via growth, referring to DDM defect data.
- Familiarize with the ZnSe passivation system.
- Engage in running the ZnSe process under supervision.
- Test the COMD of UMB with a COMD tester.
- Participate in equipment maintenance tasks.
- Upgrade and consolidate yield data from YR and CC using Python programming.
- Streamline the process of downloading and analyzing reports.
Requirements
- Some college education.
- Familiarity with programming tools such as Python and MATLAB.
- Understanding of laser concepts such as light power, voltage, resistance, and current.
