As an Engineering Intern at CalAmp, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in building and deploying highly scalable cloud-native microservices. You will work alongside experienced engineers to design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and reliable services using open source and cloud technologies. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Knowledge of Java programming language
  • Will be local to the area in Summer 2026 and can do a hybrid in office (T-Th) at our Carlsbad office
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn.

  • Tentative internship dates: Tuesday, June 16, 2026 – Thursday, September 3, 2026

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and principles.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) or containerization tools like Docker
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services development.
  • Familiarity with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and data storage solutions.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience with version control systems
