At this time, we are seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our Columbus, OH office for the summer semester (May-August). This internship will be a full-time position working 40 hours a week. This Civil Engineering Intern will work alongside the Woolpert Utilities market working on planning, design, and construction projects for various municipalities and partner consultants. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university
  • Must be willing to be in the Columbus, OH office at least 3 days per week
  • Pursuing BS in civil engineering, environmental engineering or other relevant engineering discipline.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, appropriately prioritize workflow, and complete tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to function well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Autodesk Civil 3D or ArcGIS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and create underground utilities plans in alignment with client requirements and Woolpert standards.
  • Work with project management team to identify impediments and develop/implement solutions to overcome obstacles.
  • Perform field assessments and compile data and reports.
  • Gain real-world experience working on actual projects alongside licensed professionals that are experts in their fields.
  • Assist on a variety of projects doing such things as calculations, data analysis, drawings/renderings, cost estimates, and preparing design plans.
  • Work on software and systems such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, Microsoft Office products, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Work as a member of a team that coordinates with other internal teams and external subconsultants and clients.
  • Perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence.
  • Duties include occasional field work.
  • Other duties as assigned.
