Since its launch in 2007, the Publix Summer Internship Program prepares a cohort of young professionals for a smorgasbord of opportunities in the workplace. The 2026 Summer program dates are May 18th – July 24th at our company facilities in Lakeland, FL. Over these 10 weeks, interns will work 40 hours a week participating in impactful departmental projects that connect classroom learning to real-world corporate experience. Position Overview The Employment Office manages job postings, coordinates interviews, administers online assessments, and guides new Publix associates through every step of the hiring process, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for all. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to create and/or modify and enhance a PowerApp. The intern will focus on improving the process for internal customers to submit hiring requests and building dashboards that allow EO leadership, internal customers, and clerks to monitor the status of these requests. The intern will work closely with EO leadership and staff to gather requirements, develop the PowerApp, implement improvements, and ensure a user-friendly experience for all stakeholders.

Requirements

  • must be an actively enrolled student not graduating prior to the start of the Summer Internship Program in May; or if graduating from a bachelor's degree program prior to the start of the internship, starting a graduate degree program in the upcoming summer or fall semester; or if graduating from a master’s degree program prior to the start of the internship, starting a graduate degree program in the upcoming summer or fall semester
  • must be pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in business administration, business analytics, data analytics, management information systems, or logistics and be a current junior or above (rising senior or above as of the program start in Summer 2026) or a graduate student
  • basic understanding of business process mapping or workflow concepts
  • basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • analytical skills, problem solving, logical reasoning
  • basic knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, or Dataverse)
  • experience with or interest in learning about low‑code/no‑code development tools
  • ability to work independently, be a self-starter and to multi-task

Responsibilities

  • collaborate with EO leadership and staff to gather and document requirements for the PowerApp
  • develop and enhance a PowerApp that incorporates requirements from EO leadership and staff, streamlining the process for internal customers to submit hiring requests
  • build features that allow EO leadership to assign tasks to clerks and track progress through the app
  • create dashboards and reports to monitor the status and completion of hiring requests
